😠 Don't host with ionos.de they will take your money and not respond.
Two days after payment to 1&1 ionos germany, they terminated my contract within a min of payment. I contacted them by emails, no respons. i rang, spoke English, he understood me in English but answered me in German that he will not speak English. Next he started saying NO ENGLISH. what racist! .I wrote them with a translation in German. No respond. They claim to be on for their customer 24/7 a week. not true. Horrible horrible people. I have 1and1.co.uk hosting in England for 10 years.. never had any problem with them, But when ionos took over it's a pain!

Web Hosting Company 1&1 Fined 9.5 Million Euros for GDPR Violation - Germany's privacy regulator, BfDI, has imposed a 9,550,000 Euro fine on web hosting and telecom company 1&1 (ionos.de) Telecom. One of the world's largest web hosting providers, 1&1 in 2018 had not sufficiently protected customer data from access by unauthorized persons during support services by telephone.
The GDPR investigation by BfDI (Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information) was initiated following a complaint by a customer whose mobile telephone number was provided to his former partner in 2018. The person calling provided only name and birthdate to 1&1's support employee to provide proof for being a customer. According to 1&1, the support employee acted in accordance with the company's guidelines at the time, which required a two-factor authentication. The BfDI stated that the procedure created privacy risks for customers.

😠 The worst provider ever
They are really bad. The modem i have is like 3years old and they want me to buy another one. Since few weeks the internet is slow and I'm disconnected every hour. They told me it's because the modem is "dead" and i have to change it. Since they told me this internet is not working AT ALL and they don't even want to test the lign. They are not nice on the phone and they just keep telling that:
1) i have to but a new modem
2)even if i buy a new modem internet will be slow because I'm too far from the line. I would need to change for the cable(and re-sign for like 2 years of course!)
They are real bandits and before they 'found the trick' about "you have to buy a new modem and to change the DSL" each time i called them they were able to solve the problem. Now they don't even try.
One of the time i called the man told 'oh i don't understand why we've lower your internet speed...' I ask him to repeat and he said 'i mean your modem is really old and you're getting disconnected because [read more...]
