😠 PowWeb has abhorrent customer service. First, our website went static. And after multiple frustrating calls and online chats, I was told they no longer supported the platform our website was built on. (To my knowledge we were never notified.) Then our domain name went public. I sent them an email. One week. No response. I called them, and it took them 15 minutes to say it was due to non-payment. (We were on auto-pay.) Their web page promotes friendly tech/customer support and an opportunity to give feedback. However, when you click on the feedback link you are taken to a "Knowledge Base" page which takes you to various other links to "help" you. Talk about a frustrating experience. I don't even have the words to describe the utter disgust and disappointment I have experienced with this company. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Even if it was free.

😠 Do not value old customer
I have been with Powweb for 7 years. I have no plan to leave with auto pay every years. They raised my year rate 50%, but offer a 10% discount if I signed for a 3 year plan. I said no. I do not know whether they will be around for another 3 years. I said I would like to keep it at same old rate. They said no. I did not ask for their promotional rate.
So I signed up with another service provider and take advantage of the new company's ridiculous new customer promotion rate. Powweb thinks people do not want to take the time to move their domain name and email address when it is so easy to do. I did it all the time for my clients. I am a web designer.
I informed Powweb a month ago before my plan expired, and received email from Powweb confirming that. Now, Powweb asked me to sign in and check off "Do Not Renew" form otherwise they will auto renew my plan.
This is ridiculous. I chatted with them in their chat room and told them "NO".

😠 My site never went up, I called pow web sales team who assured me they could walk me through what I wanted 2 weeks and 277 dollars later Nothing! I had provided them with what I wanted each time I had to talke to a different suport guy who said if you want that you have to buy this then we can do that. The last one I talked to said that is not what the company does finaly honesty after I spent the money! I cancled my order was told I would get a refund 1 year later i am looking at my bank statement and being charged. When i called I was told the origanal refund was set aside for future purches, another billing specilist called me back said 93 dollars was being refunded Not their yet. This is a SCAM!!!!!!! Stay far far away. I wish i had.

😠 I experienced the same problem as Barry. My creditcard was billed twice for two consecutive years AFTER cancellation of the service due to poor service and malfunctioning of scripts.
It has been impossible to contact customer service and to resolve the problem. I have now applied for a new creditcard in an attempt to resolve the issue.

😁 I am a Vietnamese webmaster, at first i am love to use the service of Dreamhost, but in the first time i using my visa card, i got some problem and finally i fix it but Dreamhost dont accept my money and refund without any good reason.
Recently, i see the hosting plan and the technology of powweb i love it too, and it have already good price. I ordered it, and and the end of order, it temporary close my order for the billing team checking.
I feel so terrible when need to call them ('cause my bad ENG), but I tried to chat live with their support 24/7. They verify my order,..etc.. it's easy and simple. My order have active soon. While i using, my script dont work, i live chat with them again, and they quickly solve that problem for me.
I feel very convience about their Live chat support (sales, technical,..).

😠 I got double billed on a renewal and can't get it fixed. Online support has been terrible and phone support no good. Now I have to get my credit card to contest the charges.

😠 Powweb's PHP-MySQL infrastructure is trashed. When they were bought by Endurance in 2006, they promised an improved CGI platform. This is not the case. MySQL queries take up to 3 seconds on my CMS. Sometimes it loads quickly (under 2 seconds) and some pages load in 120 seconds. They are just not reliable if you use MySQL. Plain HTML hosting is fine.
