After 10 years of hosting family businesses in the reseller plan and being on autopay for the majority, MDD Hosting pulled the plug on ALL said businesses & email because I was 6 days late when my autobill failed. All websites & email were down.
MDD apparently had to update how they auto-bill PayPal and I don't deny they sent a bunch of emails to me about it prior. I didn't see them because
1) MDD spams offers like "hey if you pay money in advance we'll give you a bonus" and
2) Everything important comes via text these days. They have my number but rather pull the plug.
My theory is my grandfathered plan wasn't profitable for them so they treated me as such.
So yea, if you miss a health insurance payment, auto insurance, or cable bill for an innocent issue, you get a 2 month grace period. 6 days late on your hosting bill for what amounts to prorated 12 bucks and they pull the plug at MDDHosting.

The most striking characteristic about MDD is their support. I have never opened a ticket without getting a response within 10 minutes, and oftentimes within 2 or 3. They all personal responses, no boilerplates. They have been very solicitous, and IMO going beyond what would normally be expected from web hosting, educating and supporting in areas that really aren't their responsibility. I get from them they just want to help me to get things to work. And any time I have wanted to have a program installed that couldn't be done locally, they have done so. I'm not entirely sure who this is but they do not appear to have been a client of ours.

π I needed a site to express my review of this place/service. I bought the 3 year plan almost 3 years ago now and I went in to update my payment information and realized how much their service was always good. I never received an e-mail from them in those 3 years unless it was an emergency and to do with my website's functionality. No promotional e-mails. No spam. Every time I've submitted a ticket, it was responded to within 48 hours at the most, and they went above and beyond typical customer service for providing sales comparisons; then credited me the difference so I got a 3 year service with better functionality and a credit to my account for the difference. I only think they'll improve from here on out. I subtracted two stars for the momentary downtime they had and the not-perfect but still good customer service.

π This company had an outage for 5 days, a screwup on their part erasing all the servers, and then not being able to restore accounts. I already pre-paid and I kindly asked for a refund of my remaining months. They refused and offered me credits. I ended up loosing 2 customers because their sites and emails were down for 5 days. The least they could have done was to help me out and refund the remaining months. I don't recommend this service at all to anyone!

We were able to restore 100% of services from our own backups although the process did take approximately 96 hours from start to finish. This was not 96 hours of everyone being offline - half way through 50% were back online. When 75% restored 75% of customers were back online, etc.
We also restored any clients that had their own backups immediately upon receipt of those backups.
We were very open and transparent about what happened, how it happened, what we were doing to fix it, and what steps we took to prevent it from happening again. As a result of our first major outage in over a decade of being in business we made major changes to our disaster recovery systems and procedures and we test them on a regular basis.

All of my support tickets have been answered within 15 minutes, even at 4 am on Sunday morning. The responses are not "cookie cutter" responses, they are hand written.
Uptime is near perfect. There was an issue with the server once, but it only lasted for 5 minutes and they kept us updated.
Support goes above and beyond. One of my PHP scripts was coming up with an error, so the support went through my scripts, found the error, and fixed it. I didn't even ask if they could help, they just offered, and it didn't cost me a thing. Now THAT's support!

π Yes MDDHOSTING/Michael Denney is a major scammer. He did not provide services I requested but did accept payment immediately. Promised 48 hrs integration have not heard anything for a week, no replies to my support tickets either. MAJOR SCAM. I am in the process of getting my money back legally. Unfortunately these people exist.
