π My advice is do not to use Hetzner for domain hosting, and certainly not for a business, as the service is highly unreliable and you risk having to move to another provider. With Hetzner both our website and email (forwarding to another email provider) have frequent and intermittent failures - the basic requirements and reliability for domain hosting are simply not provided.
After 3 months and numerous contact with Hetzner/KonsoleH support in the hopes that there was some obscure DNS setting that was wrong (we hoped it was human error on our side) the issue has not been addressed or solved. I have to commend them on the SPEED of answers, very fast, friendly and polite - but the QUALITY of support is at best useless and at worst not even addressing the core support question - the conclusion offered repeatedly that settings good and service is working fine pretty much ignores the support request and evidence provided that service is NOT working fine for either web hosting or [lees verder...]

π I have had an absolutely terrible experience with this company. I used their services for a short period of time, then decided to close my account. I was not informed of any outstanding balances before doing so. The next day I was sent an invoice for β¬7.54.
The invoice states that the payment is due by PayPal. I only signed up for this company because they advertise as accepting payment by PayPal. When I click the link to pay the invoice however, it does not let me do so as my account is closed.
The βsupportβ team has been rude and absolutely unhelpful. They have informed me that I am unable to pay by PayPal because I closed my account. I have asked them to reinstate my account so that I can pay my invoice. They refuse to do this because my account has an outstanding balance.
One of their e-mails to me stated the following: βAs the account is disabled already, you have to make a bank transfer. There is no other option, and it's not our problem, you deleted your account, [lees verder...]

π This is the wors company i ever work with, after more then 6 mo i get notice my account will be canceled and servers two for bad reputation IP, the ips they provided for me.
We run a small shoutcast app on the server and nothink else, and the server is private so there was no abuse maded from the server at all.

π They are randomly disabling account even though I sent valid ID few times. When they disable it then i would sent SAME ID to support and after about 10-15 days I will get confirmation that account is no longer disabled. 10-15 DAYS, and I have over 3000 euros monthly expenses to them. Then after few months they will disable my account again and same procedure. After this third time I will never use hetzner again!

π Price is king? That's what we thought for our first year as their client. BAD DECISION. They wiped out our servers for an outstanding bill of less 10 EUR. Their auto email reminders didn't reach us, yet they ruthlessly deleted our account and servers in the middle of a pandemic without even trying to reach us. They are as human as their servers. STAY AWAY.

πGood service, good value. Using many years. I have been using their servers for at least 5 years, I had dedicated servers and also cloud server/s. I think it is decent value for the price. Regarding cloud VPS i am now using, i think it is rock solid. I am not aware about downtime in months. It is fast. Management is ok, with some things i would improve, but i think they have their own head and rather not listed what i say. Support is decent, but offcourse this is unmanaged service.

Yesterday I received the email from you and the invoice for 0.01Euro that I have to pay dor services that I'll never use. As I do some investigation before a couple of years I register an account in Hetzner. I had plans to use your services. But luckily I never ordered a service from you. Then I forgot about my account until yesterday. I was very surprised after receiving an invoice that I had to pay 0.01EURO for a service that I have never used. Followed by a threatening email quote:
This is to inform you that our entire contractual relationship will be canceled by us due to non-payment, today.
All open claims will be handed over to our collection agency.
The server(s) are no longer available by now, and all data will be deleted.
Let me remind you again invoice of a 0.01EURO for a service that I have never used. What kind of relationship, collection agency or service..one more time I didn't use your services!
πGreat provider. Using there servers already for more then 3 years now. Not like bad OVH, we had a bad disk on friday after 17.00 and they kept us on hold to monday 09.00 hours. We left them instantly. With Hetzner for the same price, a better server. Some time later, a disk went bad and they changed in on our request around 03.00 hours in the night, in the weekend, no extra costs. That's service. Cheap servers, good 24/7 hardware support and fast ticket answers.
So why only an 8? 1.) No Directadmin support while cPanel is getting too expensive 2.) No software support, not even if you want to pay for it. Else... can't find an equal provider with same price/quality!

π I was late in payments for 5-6 days. Every other provider in many cases will lock your server BUT YOUR ACCOUNT WILL STAY ACCESSIBLE UNTIL PAYMENTS HAS BEEN MADE.
Hetzner GMBH DID DISABLE MY ACCOUNT making it unacceptable, asking me to pay for WIRE/BANK/SWIFT TRANSFER instead of PayPal of usual credit card payments.I've already paid by PayPal 20 euro and they're known of that.I wanted to pay with my credit card as usual BUT THEY'VE ASKED ME TO SEND a photocopy of my passport and my national ID. I do refuse it COZ THEY HAVE NOT RIGHT UNDER EU CONSUMER ACT TO ASK FOR ANY CLIENT's personal documents. I've been told then to pay through PayPal if I am not GOING TO SEND THEM PHOTOCOPY of MY PASSPORT AND NATIONAL ID CARD.
When I told to their technical support I was late in payments due to family and health relating problems that made my credit card and PayPal unavailable for a couple of days, HETZNER SUPPORT answered me "The only way to pay for the bill is wire/bank transfer".
π People, do not use their service! they made a mistake and (Hetzner themselves) ordered an expensive server which I did not ask for. 5 minutes after I received the email I asked them to remove it 1. because it is a mistake 2. because I couldn't see it in my admin panel.
They didn't remove it, yet... 1 month later they send me a huge invoice.
I contacted customer service multiple times and they wont help me, I have to pay the invoice for a product I never ordered or used.
They have no proof (I asked for it) that I ordered it. They have nothing, yet they want me to pay the invoice.
Hetzner is a bad company that tries to take your money, they scam you and offer ZERO customer service.
Even after contacting them more then 5 times, explaining them what happened they still refuse to help or compensate me in any way possible.
DO NOT trust this company, DO NOT use their services.

π I've canceled the dedicated server from my end before 14 days. However, for whatever reason, it wasn't cancelled on their end. After contacting them several times, they ended up canceling the server, however, they are still wanting to charge me around $230 for it. Even after canceling the server!!! And the customer support has been very unprofessional. It's like they are using a bunch of uneducated teenagers to run their customer support.

π Servers are great for the price. Howver, today I received a single DMCA notice and Hetzner have said I have 24 hours to remove my site from their network.
My site has millions of pages and hundreds of thousands of visitors. It has been online for 2 years with zero issues. Hetzner gets one complaint, gets scared and threatens to cut off services.
This makes them unreliable and totally useless.
If you value your site, do not choose Hetzner because they cut you off even if you haven't broken the terms and conditions. Total nightmare to deal with.

π Hetzner support is the worst in the industry This company is the absolute pits of the hosting world. I setup a dedicated server with them and from the start is was a catalog of errors.
The credentials I had for the root login would refuse to work. This kept happening without me making any changes. The login wouldn't work. I would have to reboot the server, then the logins would work.
This last time this happened, Hetzner informed me they were no longer supporting software (they were charging me for a WHM and CPanel licence) and that I now had to access the server using SSH.
No information on how to do this or even what credentials to use. Just "sorry - we don't support". They supported charging my credit card though.....
Their servers are slow and use outdated hardware and software.
Do yourself a favor and avoid Hetzner like the plague. There are plenty of professional hosting companies out there so don't use monkeys like Hetzner.

Support is rude and totally unprofessional... when support tell you that you work with Ancient technology and to upgrade software ... even when you use PHP 5.2 with postgresql 8.4 and cakePHP 1.3...
To short story.. they break 3 websites from our clients with software update they did not announce ... and after that they did want to speak with us or give us any support. π the price is good. everything else - the nightmare after a lot of replacement to a bad hard drive from failed drive, we decided to take advantage of the privilege of extra money to buy a new drive, thinking that it will increase the reliability of the servers for production-ready site. After buyin and setup, we notice that SMART sensors for Raw_Read_Error_Rate and Seek_Error_Rate extreme increases (for example on 10h lifetime we got 219857248 and 839542 respectively. It is easy to calculate by how much the threshold is reached the recommended replacement from the disk manufacturer).
Below is the correspondence with the support, as we do not see anywhere before.

While I have received replies from their abuse department and have been told that the spamming customer has been sent instructions to solve the problem, send Hetzner a response, and send me a response, the only thing I have received is yet more spam. I encourage people not to sign up with Hetzner since it seems like this company is a spam supporting business.

I have a few sites on a shared hosting, and Hetzner does not oversell their servers. Their controlpanel is a bit strange and limited, but it does the job. I would recommend Hetzner it just works

πGood service at low price I've run with hetzner now for over an year, i'll started with a webhotel, and then upgraded for a VPS. no problem. Now i'm skipping the VPS, and go for a deticated server, and again the service is in top. The support answers my mail with quiestions in about 15 minuts.

πSeems that Hetzner is trying to scam us. I want to say that seems that Hetzner is trying to scam us.
We are being charged for services now (April) that was canceled to 31/03. On their site says that have to cancel in advance of next invoice. But seems that have to cancel within 60 days in advance as they charged these.
I'd sent these items informations to Hetzner support since 02/04 and had no new invoice till now.
Today I received an email saying:
unfortunatelly we were unable to charge your credit card for the invoice R0001421077. Please update the credit card details for your account. We will charge your credit card then again. (There is no need for you to contact us in that case) Please note that we will have to suspend your account unless you update your credit card details in time. You can change your credit card details using the Robot (https://robot.your-server.de/). Once you have logged in you can change the credit card details using the menu "Master data". π I use many hosting companies including: 1and1, Godaddy.com and serverloft.eu, but these guys are real amateurs comparing to them.
Tried to set up server with Hetzner, but took me several hours to deal with their administration and stupid bureaucracy.
Not sure any more if these people are hosting servers or producing snails, but anyways if you are looking for reliable hosting, just find another company.

π had a minimal server for a few months with no issues I then got a slightly more expensive server and the problems started.
One morning I found that the server was offline. I could not find an easy way of starting it. I logged a support call and they started it for me. I then released that it had been off for around 8 hours.
They could not offer an explanation and wanted to take the server offline again to run some tests requiring 8 hours. They could not do it during the night as it was a german public holiday, the day after was the weekend when they have only emergency support. They didn't want to provide me with a new server, and they couldn't offer me any alternatives. I allowed them to do the work immediately. After 10+ hours I contacted them and they said the memory test was taking too long and this was probably the cause of the issue. Memory was apparently replaced and I appeared to have a working server.
πI as using different dedicated server in France, Luxembourg. Hetzner have the best technical support, every ticket send is answered in less than 20 min.
The rescue mode offer an virtual KVM, very usefull.

πTechnical performance is outstanding, so is service and overall quality and up time. Hosting now 3 dedicated servers at hetzner ( first 1 for 2+ years, now 2 additional servers DS5000. Using openSUSE LAMP.
The only deduction in Control panel ( customer login at Hetzner ) is due to the fact that the once registered credit card information can NOT be deleted by customers. That definitely is unique in the world and a most severe security issue needing to be fixed.
