😠 Absolutely the worst place to host your website. sure they advertise free hosting but what they don't tell you is that they can suspend or delete your account anytime without warning. I simply mentioned on their discord support chat that I was hosting my website on their service and within 10 minutes, my account was deleted, my message deleted and I received a rude response from a staff member.

I lost my entire website and over three months of work, just by mentioning it. No explanation, no proper support, just gone.

Others have warned about this and now I know it's true. Heliohost is unreliable, unprofessional and not worth your time. stay away

😁 For a free web hosting, this is actually pretty good. Most of the users who complain are those that violate the TOS. Sure, it can get a little bit slow at times, but this is a free hosting service. It has provided me with a lot of opportunities to test out my website and configurations.

😠 The most shittest free-hosting out there. These morons are completely lying out of their ass when the server they claim is the "fastest" is godly-slow. They have Johnny, Ricky, and Tommy as server choices, from apparently "slowest" to "fastest". Guess what? It's all a lie. They all preform slow as balls, even on the most light weight PHP software to just basic HTML pages. They're total scams, and they claim that sites work just fine for them, when in reality, they're slow as balls for everyone else. They claim they have "thousands of users" using the same server, but that is a complete and utter lie, because NO ONE CAN USE THEIR SERVERS. Go cry about this review and call me a "phishing" scammer because its all you can say.

There customer relations are terrible!

😁 What else could you ask out of a free web host? Sure pages load a bit slower than a paid service. But, you get almost all the features of a paid host. 500mb of space, and unlimited bandwidth. Good community (as it's really your only support). Great for a personal website or even a small business (although I'd still recommend a paid service for that).

No problems uploading files and my web site is there when I load it. It's been great! They have completed their maintenance during July 2012 and everything works faster! cPanel has a lot to offer. Their IRC channel always has someone there for support. Just a great find!

Heliohost is great as it is free with no adverts which is great but my only problem is that the control panel is very complicated, when I tried uploading a page it didn't tell me that it was done and didn't come up in the folder, but it is great that you can get no-ads free webspace.

😠 You get what you pay for
Great features for free! Website down 80% of the time, exceedingly slow 10%, and okay the rest. I received notification 3 days ago that "Your hosting account at HelioHost has been suspended as a result of account inactivity..." with a link to click to renew it. After many attempts to "renew" the account, I tried ftp access to delete all of MY files, but can't even get in that way. This service sucks!

Heliohost is a subpar outfit that fails to address the complaints of its customers. You can shout Free from the rooftops all you want, but if you can't guarantee uptime, then the basic requirement of a website isn't met.

😠 "You get what you pay for? We're changing that" is the slogan on their page. The truth is, just look at the "support" forums, that they feel you deserve nothing for receiving a free service. The result is downtimes that can last 8-10 weeks at a time, slow and unfriendly account service and people who really don't care about their customers.

There are way too many quality, free web hosts out there to waste your time and effort with these people. Check out 000webhost.org for example.

Overall the features and storage allotments are amazing for a free host. you can ask any kind of question on their forum and it will get answered by the freindly staff. but all of this is ruined by the uptime. i know it is a free host, but it should be expected that if you are offering any hosting you should try to make sure it is actually hosting your files for a lot of the time. heliohost should either discontinue their free hosting and collect revenue to get better servers, or they should upgrade and actually offer a free service they can get to people.

😃 Heliohost is the only free host i have found that provides so many features. And they are always up to date with the PHP versions. Sadly they have a lot of downtime. But its a free service and its expected. Its frustrating though because you get all these features that you otherwise would have to pay to other host but cant use them since the server is down. I used them for a university project and it was a exactly what i was needing. Not recommended for someone that needs to create site beside personal use.

😠 Down time is a weekly if not daily occurrence. This is a real problem. I have clients that need access to the information that I provide. You can't beat the price (I am a free account user)! However, that may translate into a higher cost if I am forced to move to a more reliable host. My experience with their free service instills in me concern about any pay service that they might provide. In three years (their approximate time in service) I would have thought that they may have considered a mirror server (or servers) in a different location to accommodate server failure.

😠 In this Free host world the ( helioHost.org ) is a worst and low grade server and always slow down service mostly (Break-down) No Support from Staff. If you ask anything from Helio staff ( No reply )

😉 overall its a good host , limited space but understandable since im using the free hosting services
the Cpanel is a kickass and they have alot of application to install and you can modify them easily with a good html editor
one thing i didnt like is that they didnt come back to me regarding a problem i had , yet again , its possible its because im a free user , but they do say that free users get "SOME" kind of tech support.
overall a nice free host if you want to test out your way in the new world of creating a website.
A major issue i have had in the past 48 hours is that they are in a downtime in terms that i cannot access the Cpanel, which is very bad ..

😞 HelioHost as features that pretty much match up with paid hosts, except it's offered without a single cent, and no ads too.

When I first used it, I was really attracted to all the features they gave--even PHP with safe mode off, an infinite amount of SQL servers, addon domains, subdomains, and even cron jobs...It was excellent at first. Customer service was excellent--helpful forum moderators and a friendly community.

However, while HelioHost has plenty of features for free, great customer relations, and cPanel, I have to give it a 3/10. HelioHost falls short because of downtime. It's just not up enough. Everyday, they're down a few minutes to an hour. On some occasions, they're down for several days in a row.

It's understandable, because HelioHost attracts a lot of customers because it offers so much without needing to pay cash--but unless they get better servers, there's not much of a point. In the end, uptime is more important than an abundance of features, hence the low [read more...]

😞 sadly one of the worst hosts I ever had. Still wondering if it their free hosting is a big scam. In the last month they were more down than up and your account gets deleted without warning - even if there is an obligation to log in and they are down most of the time so there is no way to log in they shut down your account and all your work like uploading is gone ... and even when you log in - they delete your free account anyway - I logged in yesterday for the last time and today my account was deleted because I had not logged in for three month (my 2nd account is not even 3 three month old since I wanted to give them another chance after the mega downtime and deleing of my first account which could have been a honest mistake). The second removal lets me think their free hosting ist a scm to get people to buy in their paid hosting. And they do not have any contact via email or contact form - you have to psot your problems on their second site in a forum. So if you want a host for [read more...]

😞 Helio host is down at least 2 times a day. I get a lot of internal server errors and it's slow.
The features are nice but if I can't rely on beeing able to use them because their server is down again they are worthless. If they have to much costumers and can't handle the bandwith they shouldn't allow new users to sign up.

😁 Helio Host is wonderful! They offer many features that paid hosts offer and they off a unique points system as an alternative to ads. The choice of ads or posting is useful for those who can't post all the time or those who don't want ads. They also offer the registration of a TLD if you earn enough points, called Helions. The welcoming community is also a wonderful place to unwind.

Of course nothing is perfect and there is a few problems that some people may dislike. For example, if you sign up for an Ad-supported hosting account, the admin will have to activate it. As a result, some people are extremely impatient. If that is you, I don't suggest using this host. That is really the only problem I can think of.

😁 Heliohost is a great hosting company. They offer many, many free perks that most companies wold charge for. I have never had any major issues with this hosting company. Any and all tech support is thru their forums, and I usually have an answer within the day, If Not sooner. Kudos on such a great hosting company!
