😠 This company is HORRIBLE! if it could be rated zero or negative stars it deserves it. In every possible area. I recommend staying away from this company. there are many other much better companies out there to choose from. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER

😠 In order to clarify the Funio support and services: even if the unilimited plan should be limited to 512 MB ora RAM (as they advertise), I found my account was limited at 384 MB of RAM. That was clear listed in my account. I observe that later as they changed it. I reported that issue and after several emails, they corrected that.
As they are suggesting to buy a VPS, it means they do not recognize their mistakes and that's not a good attitude. If I want a VPS, I will buy one, but if I only need a shared hosting, then give me the resources you specify. That is all.

😠 #Funio / #FunioHosting is one of the WORST hosting company you can ever find. DO NOT use their services as they are not offering the resources they advertise! They are limiting your account under the specified values!!! I had multiple accounts on them since years and after investigating the problem on my own (my few small websites with under 100 visitors per day - on all websites - were loading very slow, always using 100% of the "resources"), I just found that my accounts were limited for years! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!
During the time, every year there was an issue with them. I admitted small issues, but this is the most ugly event! Few years ago they messed my account with a 6 months old one from a retired server (that was their explanation after a week of emails with support, explaining that my websites are not the actual ones)

😉 They delete folders without notice/warning

I'm a longtime Funio customer, started when it was called iWeb or something.
The problem is the company keeps deleting folders.

The first time, they've contacted me with email asking about folder on my website, as I've explained its purpose, they understood that the folder is indeed required for my website to run properly, so all OK.

Then few months later, without my permission or notice, warning, the company just deleted my folder, and I've suffered financial losses, because my customers couldn't download my software anymore.
I've contacted the company, they were able to restore the folder.

Now few months passed, and the company AGAIN deleted my folder without notice.

This is completely unprofessional.
Request a refund and move to another company, this is the way to go.

😠 hands off approach
was great for the price, but it turned out they don't run proper backups on servers that host non-critical clients, such as any private individual. As a result, I lost a lot of original content that had not been backed up and had to recover it via google's time machine. Meanwhile their customer service was absolutely unreachable, no feedback, no explanation, no accountability, and no attempt to compensate me for the loss.

😠 Funio erased the database of a whole cluster of its cusomers
If you are hosting a professionnal website on Funio, they can erase your whole database (and not only ours), then they say it's not their problem if they have erased it.

You should have been more careful about their incompetence, we decided to choose another hosting company.

😠 Worst customer service and professionalism ever
Our client have been using Funio until we had to deal with some major security issue.
Their website was down and we had to get in touch with tech support:

-Response time for an emergency is ridiculously long
-Forget about phone support. The tech we had to deal with offered no help and was very rude
-They knew our client's website was down because they're the ones who took it down; they just didn't feel like letting us know.

Funio just hates Iweb customers and we just love iweb and hate funio. They shut down my account and sent me a mail saying I should clean it up. I WOULD IF I HAD ACCESS FUNIO!!!!!.

😠 Why did I not read these reviews before I signed up with them? Indeed.. Thieves. I asked to close my account with them but they keep making withdrawals. Impossible to speak with anyone on the phone. They keep telling me I'll be contacted by email or phone but nobody ever does. Do I have to cancel my credit card to stop them from taking my money? Don't sign up with them! Technical support is useless. They close their chat sessions as soon as they feel like it...

😠 This is the worst provider I have ever dealt with. They are thieves, and really do not care. I give warning, you will not be happy with this company. They are difficult to contact, as they do not place a phone number on the site. They lose your information, and they deny and previous contact made with them. And when you want to cancel your account, they promise a credit for any of their terrible products. Why would I want credit for something I want nothing to do with. I intend on contacting a few people to make sure they get found out about their thieving practices.

😠 Another iweb customer transferred to Funio. Don't waste your time they are expert thieves. Had my domain name hijacked by them 2 years in a row, they made me pay for hosting service in order to access my domain name. I am in the process of transferring my domain name to a new company.

😠 I'm also a long time customer which signed up with IWEB and then was transferred to Funio. Since the transfer, Funio started charging $2 / month extra for SSL (even though I have my own SSL certificate). And now it seems that they are throttling my account, which makes it unusable for WordPress.

I guess this is one way to get rid of the customers that have pre-paid for 10 years in advance, or to get more money from them.

Started as iWeb, we have 3 accounts. Every account needed a different email address to set up because it wouldn't allow you to use the same one. Trying for over a year to change one of the email addresses from my bosses since he gets 100 emails a year from them. You will get 5 emails for every separate domain you have. Support tickets are done in Mexico. They asked for my password to merge accounts. Had to fax the owner's signature and licence to pay, which believe me was a real pain since he lives in another city and couldn't be bothered with crap like that. My boss just got another email today. What does it take to have your email address changed?????
The only good thing about them is the actual hosting, fast and great cpanel.

😠 Almost lost my domain, over charged and then lied to me
I registered my domain through iWeb because I loved their hosting. They split my domain service off to Funio but never configured it correctly. I had no idea anything was even wrong until I got an expiry notification from Melbourne IT, who they were reselling when I bought my domain the first time. Tried to renew my domain through iWeb and I get informed that they can't help me. Funio support lied to me and said I'd have to renew for two years to get my domain switched over from iWeb, because I am on the "legacy service". I coughed the money up to not lose my domain. Turns out they renewed and transferred me over to Funio, but only renewed for a year. Didn't refund me either until I pointed it out to them. And they still are sending notifications to the wrong email address, which is not listed as a contact anywhere on my account. How did that happen? No one knows! Stay far far away.

At the beggining, with iweb, that was awsome, but now, with funio, that's ugly. I have a lot of website hosted here and today, all my website from the same server were attacked (the server under linux was attacked, not my website directly), i contact them to backup my files and they told me i have to pay to backup... hum ...

I registered a domain name and i took more then 4 months, im not kiddddddding !

customer service support is just bad. they don't care about your issue and if you deceided to call, you have to wait (a pre-recorded message told me the average waiting time was 30 min).

Unfortunuatly, i already pay for 10 years but won't recommanded this host anymore. Funio sucks...

😁 I love these guys!
I've been putting my business website with these guys for the past 2+ years.
They are a member of Torix and since i'm in the Toronto area that's very important, makes my website ping in like 6ms which is amazing.
They are always available 24/7 through their online chat and they are always nice and helpful. If i have some serious problem then i might need to wait for the next day to get a technician to handle it, but otherwise i really love it.
