π My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare. It all started when I was billed twice for the services they provided. I tried to address this issue by updating my card information on their website, but they conveniently updated their website to make it impossible to update the card on file.
Over the course of several months, I spoke with over 30 different representatives, each of whom assured me that my card information would be updated. However, despite their promises, my card details remained unchanged...but only for one of the services....they only updated the payment method for my reseller's account they were billing me twice for, not for the website they were also billing me twice for. (Which was conveyed to them as well)
To make matters worse, the company eventually sent my account to collections because they couldn't update the card or bill the card that I had previously updated with one of their representatives.

AIT has been a horrible service to work with. I started with AIT around 15+ years ago to simply register my URL names. When I started a business in 2019, I decided to use them for hosting my main website, and for building a custom marketing site that needed some underlying programming. Here's how all this went:
1. Byron Briggs, the CFO, gave me an estimate of between $1200 to $1800 to build and do the programming for my "special" marketing site. Said it would take perhaps 1 to 3 months. Results:
Took 9 months and cost $4800. Plus, the system over the next couple of years constantly had problems. Apparently, there was only one programmer--located in Romania--that actually knew how to do the work. So, besides costing a fortune to get this thing going relative to the original quote, I never had smooth functioning and no proper support.

Account manager Steve is the one of the most incompetent worst account manager I encountered. He is supposed to have my one page website up and running. He told me typically 4-6 weeks and I am on week 7. I only asked for simple website. Very plain. He could not delivered. I don't know why company hires people who cannot deliver on deadlines. I wouldn't recommend him or the company until they find suitable competent people who knows how to execute simple tasks. And when speaking on the phone with him, he doesn't care, very nonchalant, very unprofessional attitude. I'm disgusted with this company and the account manager Steve. He is a sad dog.

π I've been with AIT since the mid 1990s when Clarence Briggs was the owner and it was a good place - until his rotten son Bryon took over and ruined the entire company. If you are smart, you will stay as far away as you can from this once great company! I almost lost my domain name thanks to him! Avoid this hosting company at all costs!

π Byron Briggs promised a website to be completed within 15 days to one month at the most. After four months, they had barely started. Weeks would go by without an update, and all along they were not really working on my project. I finally pulled the plug after having a lot of patience and now they sent me to collections for the remainder of the year. I see that he like to litigate and take people to the cleaners. Steer clear.

π A free promotion means that you owe them money. I was offered a 30 days free trial which I of course accepted, the same day an invoice on 10 USD appeared, of course I would not pay for this as a free promotion was agreed upon. Now they claim that I owe them money, while the letter from the CFO states 1 amount, the billing invoice on their website states a higher amount. This is of course unlawful but they seem not to care.

When AIT switched over to a new billing system they missed up my accounting and they told me they knew it and would straighten out my account. What they did was cut off my account with no warning and my customers who had paid me 1 year in advanced called AIT to see what the problem was. AIT told them I didn't pay the bill. I was forced to refund my 4 biggest customers money and when I got ready to leave their company I didn't give them 30 days notice so they locked down my account and I was forced to pay them $1200.00. Yes that's is right $1200. This company doesn't give a shit about their customers. NEVER NEVER AGAIN! I went with GoDaddy and got 5 years for $512.00. That was amazing.

AIT's support is simply the worst I have ever encountered. After opening a ticket, they will take countless hours to partially respond, and since they offer services for which they don't have capable staff for troubleshooting, a simple problem can take several weeks to even months (like my case right now in which I have been left stranded for more than 6 weeks) to be solved. They are also unethical company selling third companie's software licenses at full price which in case you get desperate with their lack of service and ask them to give you the software license to host it somewhere else, they will tell you that what you paid for is a "service" and not a license for the software, so if you go elsewhere they keep the license and you lose everything.
AIT's support is simply the worst I have ever encountered. π AIT had another meltdown on Oct 6, 2010. They blamed a power surge... Anyway, the website was "dark" for most of a week, and email was not available for most of the time. ENdless calls and trouble tickets would get the reply "They're working on the server" "We don't know when it will be up" After a week, I finally went to a new host that appears to have a more robust platform, and more comprehensive services for less money.
I suffered through an outage before, but not for this long. Inertia kept me from switching then. I just wish I would have dumped them years ago instead of having my business totally disrupted for over a week in October, 2010

π The worst of the worst of the worst. You see ait, run away as fast as you can. Today, down again. From what I can tell, at least 8 hours now. A few weeks ago, 12 hours. a few weeks before that, 12 hours. This has happened time and time again. Support is ungodly slow, and most of the time you cannot ever get through. Online ticket system, you are looking at 6-12 hours average.
I've had a dedicated server with them for 3 years, and the CP is horendous (some self made half working script, that it takes a rocket scientist to work around some things. Just to get analytics, you might as well put google analytics on your site, because in the server, it is all but non existant. Plus, whomever configures the servers needs to go to school. I'm frequently on every email black list in existence for mail forging. Hackers got into my server 3 times and ruined all my sites. AIT blamed me, until i showed proof that the apache install was one giant security hole that allows form input [read more...]

Was advised of a problem in support reporting yesterday, but now all is kaput. Suspect 1000s of domains are offline, many with ecommerce needs that are inop. This has to be an extremely serious problem for many. Though I have been with AIT since their beginning, 12 years, I will be moving elsewhere.
Let the buyer beware.

π Have had reseller hosting pkge for over 8 years. They were fantastic years ago.
In the last 1 year, AIT has gone from bad to worse. They have grown, and cannot handle supporting the client base.
In the last 3 months, when our server was down, AIT as a company was down as well where their website, phone number, and email were non functional. This lasted for 2 days. It was a terrible situation to be in.
We are currently down again. Their main number, website, and other numbers are not accepting calls. It just doesn't get any worse than this.
Our pkge price is reasonable $129/month. The support is terrible, and the uptime is becoming less and less.
In the last 1 year, AIT has gone from bad to worse. They have grown, and cannot handle supporting the client base.

We are currently down again. Their main number, website, and other numbers are not accepting calls. It just doesn't get any worse than this.
Our pkge price is reasonable $129/month. The support is terrible, and the uptime is becoming less and less.

π THE WORST POSSIBLE HOSTING COMPANY YOU CAN CHOOSE, WE FINALLY HAD ENOUGH AND ARE MOVING OUR ACCOUNTS FROM THEM. I DISCOURAGE ANYBODY FROM CHOOSING AIT, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT RESPONSIVE, WHEN COMPLAINING THEY WANT TO SELL YOU ADDITIONAL SERVICES. AT LEAST ONCE PER MONTH THEY ARE DOWN FOR MORE THAN 12 HOURS, WHILE THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT DO NOT EVEN ANSWER THE PHONES.

π I have been with AIT for over 10 years. In the beginning they provided good service and up-time. Over the past 5+ years their service has degraded dramatically. I had two servers with them, one for a business and one for personal use. I dumped them for my business last year and am looking to move my personal server as well. Their ability to keep servers up is horrible, they do not monitor servers which can become inaccessible or can be down for days if you don't contact them. Their customer service is atrocious, their techs do not know what is going on and you get a different answer from each person you talk to. They take forever to answer their phone, more often than not you get dumped to VM. In 10 years, I have never once had then return a call when I left a VM. Their shared servers appear to be overloaded and miss managed. It takes days to fix problems instead of hours as it should. I would definitely this hosting company at all costs!

π AIT has the worst customer service I have encountered. They do not return phone calls, have the worst hardware and software to host your site with and will rip you off for service fees that you have canceled with them. Customer support lies to you. Tech support is a joke. It took me 42 days to get them to fix my SSL service last year. They finally did what I told them to do in the beginning and fixed it. How lamb can you get? Try AIT and you'll find out. The hosting service and email were always going down. After 11 years with them I now am with a really good service at IX. Talk about night and day. Whatever you do, DON'T pick AIT for your hosting service. They are the worst of the worst.

π AIT has some of the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. Our website and email has been down for over a day, so our clients are unable to view our website, and we are unable to send or receive email. AIT's tech support is often unreachable, and after 15-minute hold times calls are dumped to voicemail. When they can be reached their techs are clueless, unable to give specific information about the problem, and unable to offer even an estimate of when the problem will be fixed. If you enjoy having an unviewable website, unreliable email, and spending lots of time on hold waiting to talk to tech support, then this is the company for you. Otherwise, I would go with any other company...we are switching our hosting as soon as possible.
