After struggling with this service for over 3 years I have finally left this site. There is no place to ask questions in the help topics. The help received is patchy at best. The answers given after waiting days on end is generic and confusing. There are much better places to spend your money. Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE>

😞 Intrusive arrogance
Recenty had a new folder "Camera-L710" appear in my account. It was not created by e, was not wanted, but it could NOT be deleted. Multiple attempts failed. Finally I renamed it, and it was gone. NOT ! Next log on, it reappeared.
So, someone is able to enter my account, create new folders, and lock them so that the user cannot remove them.
I have sent a note to Tech support. Waiting to see if there is an answer. Meanwhile, I must conclude that either my account has been hacked or some 4Shared honcho has decided to intrude into private accounts and create folders. Either way it speaks very poorly of their care for customer privacy and security.

😠 4shared sucks big time. Each month something changes and when you contact them they either don't respond or respond to just one of your comments or just blame it on you. It's been going downhill but now I can't make folders for new clients. There's no delete or trashcan for old clients. Things don't always load the first time. You can see the bar go to the end, but it doesn't actually get into the folder. Does anyone know of a site where I can use it like 4shared, but it works and doesn't cost a ton each month. All I need is something set up like 4shared where I can make a client their own folder within my account. They can load their work into the account, delete it, rename it. And I can see all the folders on one screen and if something is in it. It would have to be a site where I could load a good amount if gigabites. And that I can control each folder within my account, and each folder owner can control their own folder.

😠 They betrayed the paying customer
my business has all but shut down due to the greed of 4shared. After being a paying customer for 4 years they have made my customers sign up and create an account before they can get the download link. This is such a cheesy attempt to get more business by using OUR customers to do it. So now when my customer clicks the buy it now, they are sent a link that will say INVALID..unless they sign up with 4shared. How sad that now they will lose me , a paying customer to get what? A bunch of non-paying customers that are forced to get a account they will never need,use or want. SHAME ON 4SHARED. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY THEY WILL STAB YOU IN THE BACK. When I emailed to ask why they did this, the only answer they gave was. Give the customer a direct link...What the hell? Why don't I just give them the account sign in and password too. idiots!!!!

4 shared private files are even not private.My files were public and I didn't knew until all my personal work was distributed so I DONT recommend this site at all.If you want headache use 4shared.com.

😠 4shared not responsive to problem
My download counter stopped working weeks ago although I know for sure there have been downloads of the files I share. I and others can download but the stats are not working.

4shared is really sleazy company. you sign up for 1 month and they try to charge you every month with auto renewal even though there is no mention of auto renewal on registration form.
stay away and use a reliable company located in US.

😠 I'm losing clients because 4 shared doesn't work and support is ridiculous. [...]
It's like an abusive relationship. Customer service is a waste. I will send customer support a detailed email with problem and they write back something totally unrelated to my problem. Other times they answer one question and not others. Then several days later and 10 emails back and forth and they finally answer my question, but blame the problem on my computer. 50% of the time it takes me 5 tries to load or download a file. It shows it's loading and then when it's finally done... it's not there. I should have quit with them five years ago, but don't know of other solutions to do what I want. I lost two clients this week because of their loading problem.

😠 I am trying to use this kludge of a site. There is no context-specific help available. As a matter of fact, I can't find ANY help regarding what each function does. There is a "Add to Favorite Files" option on one of the pull-down lists. Where does these files go to? I am looking at someone else's 4shared account, and when I mark the file and click on the "Add to favorites" option...it doesn't go anywhere.
Can't find anything about this online. Their forum is anemic. I guess we just putz along and use it for a online storage?
Friends post files to their accounts, but I have to download each file just to save it to my account? Makes no sense to me.

😠 I prepaid the 1 year premium service on Friday early morn. Within 1 hour of trying to get their desktop app to work I was kicked off for too many failed logins and unable to use the premium app for 24 hours. When I emailed cust service, they said just use the web. But thats what you get with the free service so what did I buy the premium service for? It is now Monday, was unable to log in over the weekend and I got on this morning for 15mins and was kicked again.
It appears that when you have a browswer open when you login. Then you log via the desktop app - those 2 conflict and you have failing logins from the competition. Then, if you are logged in via the web and browswer their pages for downloads again, failed attempts will show. Because every new tab logs you out but you are still logged into the first tab.
So you they advertise file sharing and desktop premium service, BUT you cant use any of the 3 servises - web login, desktop app, or online search at the same [read more...]
