*π Plan description
Cloudflare Pro is aimed at professional sites and startups that need stronger security and performance tuning than Free. It unlocks the full Web Application Firewall with Cloudflare Managed Rules and OWASP rules to stop common exploits (SQLi, XSS), adds Super Bot Fight Mode to challenge or block non-human traffic, and increases rule/caching customization (more Cache Rules and Page Rules to target page-level policies). Pro also enhances performance with features like Polish/Mirage image optimization, Enhanced HTTP/2 Prioritization, and richer cache analytics to find miss/expired assets and improve hit ratios. WordPress sites can turn on Automatic Platform Optimization (APO) to cache HTML at the edge for large TTFB gains, and APO is included with Pro. Pro is priced per domain at 25 USD/month with predictable flat pricing (no extra charges for normal CDN bandwidth), and you can bundle add-ons such as Argo Smart Routing or Load Balancing for additional speed and resilience. Ticket-based help is available through the dashboard, and upgrades/downgrades are prorated within the billing cycle.
As with other Cloudflare tiers, the Pro plan runs on the same anycast network footprint and control panelβso enabling features is point-and-click while the edge absorbs volumetric L3βL7 DDoS. Plans are month-to-month in USD and managed in the Cloudflare dashboard; accepted methods include credit cards and PayPal. Pro inherits the platformβs philosophy of simplifying edge security and performance without managing servers, and it provides an easy runway to Business if you later need a formal SLA or premium support.

π Editorial Review
Cloudflare is a global connectivity and security platform that began in 2009 (originally an anti-spam concept) and went public on the NYSE in 2019 (NET). Today they deliver a broad stack: CDN/DNS, WAAP (WAF, Bot Management, API security), SASE/SSE/Zero Trust (Access, Gateway, ZTNA, CASB), network services (Magic WAN/Firewall, DDoS, load balancing, Argo), and an edge developer platform (Workers, KV/Queues/AI, Stream). They run a single, intelligent global network spanning 330+ cities in 125+ countries, handling tens of millions of HTTP requests per second on average. The same platform powers both security and performance, so organizations can consolidate vendors and policies.
Free plan highlights include: free shared SSL, unmetered DDoS mitigation, the 1.1.1.1 resolver, 3 Page Rules, and generous developer limits (Workers: up to ~100k requests/day with 30 scripts).
Pro adds an advanced WAF, DDoS alerts, image optimization and page-speed tooling (good fit for serious blogs and SMB sites).
Business elevates caching (edge cache TTLs down to ~30s), priority support and enhanced analytics.
Enterprise layers on custom SLAs, advanced logging, Zero Trust controls, API security, network prioritization, and flat-rate options for usage products.
Beyond CDN/security, Cloudflare is also an ICANN-accredited registrar (launched 2018 for self-serve) focused on at-cost pricing and a streamlined transfer/management flow inside the Cloudflare dashboard.
Cloudflareβs services, docs and dashboard are available in multiple languages (US/UK), German, Spanish (LatAm & Spain), French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, and Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), making the platform broadly accessible worldwide.
